Established in September 2018, the Racing Studio of Shenzhen Technology University carries out scientific and technological innovation practices under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. It is mainly managed and instructed by Party member teachers and outstanding young teachers, while key positions are undertaken by excellent student Party members, Party activists and League members. Committed to the in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation with ideological and political education, the Studio fosters young Marxist talents and innovative skilled craftsmen, and has been honored as the Model Worker & Skilled Talents Innovation Studio of Shenzhen Public Institutions and Government Organizations.
As a science and innovation organization, the Studio focuses on the research and development of fuel Baja off-road vehicles, electric Baja off-road vehicles, electric formula racing cars and driverless racing cars, as well as related innovation and entrepreneurship activities and public science popularization campaigns. It has built six teams: Hurricane Fuel Baja Team, Electro-Light Electric Baja Team, Aurora Electric Formula Team, AutoBots Driverless Vehicle Team, Driverless Baja Team and Driverless Formula Team. With the support of the university, college and sponsors, the teams independently design and manufacture racing cars every year, and regularly participate in discipline competitions including the China University Formula Series and National Intelligent Car Competition. By the end of 2023, the Studio had won 18 national awards and dozens of awards at provincial, municipal and university levels. Notably, the Electric Formula Team claimed the third place in the overall ranking (First Prize) and first place in the efficiency test in the national competition in 2023.
Upholding the core philosophy of Boundless Creativity, Distinctive Design, Independent Operation and Craftsmanship for Dreams, the Racing Studio strives to build a practical platform for scientific and technological innovation for all students passionate about motor racing. Since its founding, it has achieved rapid development and fruitful results. Currently, its members come from more than 20 majors such as Vehicle Engineering, Transportation and Logistics Management, with a total student number exceeding 200.
