In November 2018, Vice Director Xu Gang led a delegation from Shenzhen Technology University to conduct research visits in the Netherlands and Germany. During this period, they visited Hochschule Heilbronn - University of Applied Sciences in Germany and Würth Electronics Group. Building upon the signed cooperation framework agreement, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions and research on specific collaboration areas such as automotive, transportation, and logistics.

On February 18, 2019, Professor Thomas Bezold, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Business at Hochschule Heilbronn, Professor Carsten Wittenberg, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Professor Louise Bielzer, Director of International Relations at the Faculty of Engineering and Business, Ms. Tomomi Eberhard, International Relations Officer, and Professor Jürgen Ulm from the Faculty of Engineering and Business, along with other representatives, visited Shenzhen Technology University. They were received by Vice Director Xu Gang, Professor Franz Rap, Dean of the School of Urban Transportation and Logistics, and Professor Chen Zhichao, International Affairs Officer at Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing. Vice Director Xu Gang introduced the educational philosophy, characteristics, and achievements of the university, while Dean Franz Rap provided an overview of the School of Urban Transportation and Logistics. Extensive discussions and exchanges were conducted between the Chinese and German sides on the future development of the college, discipline construction, and training programs. Subsequently, a visit was made to the Sino-German Beer Brewing Process Control Laboratory.

On the 19th, accompanied by Dean Franz Rap, they visited Shenzhen University to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university's scale and background. In the afternoon, they visited the Shenzhen Civic Center and the Great Tide Rising Pearl River Reform and Opening Up Memorial Hall. The foreign guests further understood the impact of the reform and opening-up on Shenzhen, expressing admiration and astonishment at the remarkable changes in the city over the past 40 years and the achievements of China's reform and opening-up.

On the 20th, Shenzhen Technology University was invited to attend the opening ceremony of Würth Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.'s Quality Design Center. Vice Director Xu Gang, Dean Franz Rap, Dean Lü Qitao of Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing, and Director Zeng Siyu of the Department of International Cooperation and Student Affairs participated in and witnessed the opening ceremony. Subsequently, they were led by Reinhold Würth from the Würth family, Steffen Mütsch, responsible for production management at Würth Electronics Group, and Chen Yangyang, Manager of Quality Design Center at Würth Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., for a tour of the Quality Testing Center.
