In order to further strengthen international cooperation, at the invitation of relevant schools in Germany and Switzerland, Comrade Zhang Yanhong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of SZTU, led the team. Dean Franz Raps, Secretary Luo Qin, and Vice Dean Yin Xiaohong, together with Gu Zhiyuan from the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee and Wu Sizhong from College of Engineering Physics, went to University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, University of Applied Sciences Munich, and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland from June 12 to June 18, 2024, to carry out cooperation, exchange and exchange activities.
The delegation visited three universities in Germany and Switzerland, with tasks including cooperative education, scientific research cooperation, student exchange, and faculty sharing. The main activities included participating in special seminars, visiting laboratories and teaching facilities, exchanging ideas with school leaders and professors, and reaching cooperation intentions including student exchange, teacher exchange, joint scientific research, cooperative education, joint training of master's students, and studio technology cooperation. The visit was successfully completed.
At University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, the visiting delegation participated in a specialized seminar and visited the university's advanced laboratories and research centers. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on student exchanges, cooperative education, scientific research cooperation, and other aspects, explored the possibility of carrying out cooperative education, initially reached the intention of conducting teacher visits, and discussed the possibility of conducting joint research projects in logistics management, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields. They plan to jointly apply for relevant international scientific research funds in the next few years. In addition, the visiting delegation participated in the International Week of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and promoted our university, exchanged ideas with other university leaders in attendance, and enhanced our university's international reputation.
At the University of Applied Sciences Munich, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on joint training for master's students, joint scientific research, teacher training, ASIIN certification, and more. Explored the possibility of conducting collaborative research in fields such as autonomous driving, and agreed to carry out teacher training programs in the future to enhance the teaching and research level of teachers from both schools, promote the exchange and mutual learning of educational concepts and teaching methods. In addition, both parties exchanged experiences on the ASIIN certification program of the German Higher Engineering Education Accreditation Council.
At the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, the visiting delegation had extensive exchanges with the university's leaders and other relevant academic personnel. The discussion includes joint degree programs, teacher-student exchanges, and resource platform sharing. Both parties have agreed to explore the establishment of a joint degree program and share research platforms and course resources in their respective advantageous fields to promote technological progress and innovative applications in related fields.
The visiting delegation has clarified the specific direction and content of future cooperation with three universities. The next step will be to further refine the cooperation agreement based on the previously signed memorandum of cooperation, strengthen the cooperation mechanism, and promote win-win cooperation and development between both parties. We have preliminarily identified some specific cooperation projects, including student exchange programs, joint master's degree programs, and collaborative applications for international research projects, which are expected to be gradually implemented in the next two years. This visit has achieved fruitful results, laying a solid foundation for cooperation between SZTU and universities in Germany and Switzerland. Through this visit, valuable experience was gained from German and Swiss universities in innovative education, scientific research management, and international cooperation, laying the foundation for further improving the international level of education and promoting high-quality development of universities.
